This Cookie Policy explains how App of Things (operated by Ricky Landino) uses cookies and similar browser technologies when you access our web application at appofthings.com. This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.
Our mobile application (iOS and Android) does not use cookies. This policy applies to the web application only.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device through your web browser when you visit. They allow the website to recognize your browser across page loads and sessions — for example, to keep you signed in.
Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, which store data in your browser without sending it to a server with every request. We use local storage for certain preferences (see Section 3).
3. Cookies and Storage We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Service to function. The Service cannot operate without them, and you cannot opt out of these cookies while using the Service.

3.2 Local storage (preference data)
We store your light/dark mode preference in your browser's localStorage. This data:
- Is not a cookie and is not sent to our servers
- Contains no personal information
- Persists until cleared by you in your browser settings
- Is used solely to remember your display preference between sessions
3.3 What we do NOT use
App of Things does not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies
- Cross-site tracking technologies
- Analytics cookies or tracking pixels (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Third-party social media cookies
- Fingerprinting or supercookie techniques
4. Third-Party Cookies
Our web application is hosted and served through the following third-party infrastructure providers. These providers may set their own cookies or collect technical data as part of operating their services:
- Supabase, Inc. — database, authentication, and storage platform. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel, Inc. — web application hosting and global CDN. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
We do not control the cookies set by these providers in the course of delivering their infrastructure services. Any data they collect is subject to their own privacy policies.
5. How to Control and Delete Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View all cookies currently stored on your device
- Delete individual cookies or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific websites
- Block all third-party cookies
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set
Important: Deleting or blocking the Supabase authentication cookies listed in Section 3.1 will sign you out of the Service and prevent you from signing back in until new cookies are set.

6. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals to websites. Because App of Things does not engage in cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising, we do not alter our data collection practices based on DNT signals. We treat all users equally regardless of DNT signal status.
7. Cookie Consent
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom: the strictly necessary authentication cookies described in Section 3.1 are exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive because they are technically essential for the Service to function.
We do not use non-essential cookies that require your consent. If we add analytics, advertising, or any other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent mechanism before doing so.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies or browser technologies changes. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will notify you as described in our Privacy Policy.
